Essendon is proud to announce its 2024 Tackling Childhood Cancer game will take place in round nine against the GIANTS.
The yearly event, in collaboration with official charity partner Challenge, is scheduled to take place at Marvel Stadium. This occasion signifies 21 years of the Bombers’ alliance with Challenge, which originated in support of Adam Ramanauskas, a 2000 Premiership player and cancer survivor.
The Bombers will proudly sport the Challenge logo on the front of their jerseys, along with a yellow armband. Fans can purchase player-issued jerseys, with proceeds benefiting Challenge. In conjunction with Challenge and supported by Yakult, the Bombers will raise both funds and awareness to aid children and families affected by cancer. Challenge, a non-profit organization, offers continuous support to children and families facing cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Prior to the match, selected players’ boots will be painted by Challenge children and worn during the game, with sales proceeds also going to Challenge. Additionally, Challenge children will have the opportunity to join Essendon players on the field as they enter for the game against the Giants.
