Another Auburn Tigers player is heading to the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Freshman wide receiver Dylan Gentry officially entered the portal on Wednesday, joining a growing group of Auburn departures this spring that includes safeties Terrance Love and C.J. Johnson, cornerback J.C. Hart, and offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner.

Gentry redshirted in 2024 and will still have all four years of eligibility available.

His entry into the portal came on the first day of the spring transfer window, which remains open until April 25, giving players time to secure a new team.

A former walk-on, Gentry chose Auburn over offers from Florida A&M and Albany State but did not appear in any games during his freshman year.

A three-star recruit from Phenix City’s Central High School, Gentry was ranked No. 279 among wide receivers nationally and No. 114 overall in Alabama for the 2024 class.

His departure continues a trend of turnover in Auburn’s receiver room. The Tigers already lost senior KeAndre Lambert-Smith to graduation and the 2025 NFL Draft.

In response, head coach Hugh Freeze brought in Georgia Tech standout Eric Singleton Jr. and Wake Forest transfer Horatio Fields, both expected to make an impact. They’ll join returning sophomores Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson, and Malcolm Simmons in what’s shaping up to be a competitive and deep wide receiver unit — one where Gentry struggled to climb the depth chart.
