The Minnesota Vikings are strengthening both their offensive and defensive lines after reaching agreements with defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and guard Will Fries.
Allen, a former first-round pick by Washington in 2017, was free to sign after his release last Friday. The 30-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having started 108 games and racking up 42 sacks, 401 tackles, and 118 QB hits. Despite missing most of the 2024 season due to a torn pectoral, he returned late to help Washington reach the NFC Championship. Per Adam Schefter, Allen’s deal is a three-year, $60 million contract.
Fries, a seventh-round pick in 2021, joins from Indianapolis, where he spent four seasons. According to KSTP Sports, he inked a five-year, $88 million contract with Minnesota.
