Former Texas DE Joseph Ossai Re-Signs with Bengals on $7M Deal

Former Longhorns defensive end Joseph Ossai is set to return to the Cincinnati Bengals on a one-year, $7 million contract, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Drafted 69th overall in 2021, Ossai missed his rookie season due to injury but has since become a key rotational pass rusher. In 47 games (three starts), he has recorded 73 tackles, 32 QB hits, and 9.5 sacks, including a career-high five in 2024.

Despite a costly penalty in the 2022 AFC Championship, Ossai remains a promising defender. At Texas, he dominated with 165 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks, earning All-American honors.

Ossai is the second former Longhorn to sign Monday, following Poona Ford’s $30M deal with the Rams.
