Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart Rising Up Draft Boards, Linked to Rams in First Round
Jaxson Dart, the talented Ole Miss quarterback, is quickly gaining attention as his draft stock continues to rise. More analysts are now projecting him as a first-round pick, despite the 2025 quarterback class being considered one of the weaker ones in recent years. However, Dart’s upside and potential make him an intriguing prospect for teams in need of a future signal-caller.
One team that could be in the market for a quarterback is the Los Angeles Rams. With rumors swirling about a possible Matthew Stafford trade this offseason, the Rams may have a significant need at the position. Even if Stafford remains in Los Angeles, the team could look to develop his successor as the veteran quarterback, now 37 years old, has battled multiple injuries in recent years.
Athlon’s Luke Easterling sees Dart as a strong fit for the Rams, predicting that they could select him with the No. 26 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
“There’s plenty of talk about Matthew Stafford’s future, but even if he returns for another season in Los Angeles, it’s time for the Rams to plan for a future beyond the 37-year-old passer who has dealt with multiple injuries in recent years,” Easterling wrote in a mock draft. “Dart certainly has his flaws, but the tape shows plenty of upside with flashes of brilliance, and his strong performance at the Senior Bowl has him in the first-round conversation.”
Landing in Los Angeles could be ideal for Dart, as he would have the opportunity to develop under Sean McVay, one of the NFL’s top offensive minds. With a strong supporting cast and a quarterback-friendly system, the Rams could provide the perfect environment for Dart to grow into a future franchise leader.
