Class of 2026 four-star interior offensive lineman Bear McWhorter revealed his top five schools and a commitment date on Monday, with the Florida Gators making the cut.

McWhorter, a 6-foot-3, 308-pound prospect from Cass High School in Kingston, Georgia, will choose between Florida, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and Michigan on February 28, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. ESPN ranks him as the No. 9 interior offensive lineman in his class.

He announced via his personal X account that his commitment ceremony will take place at noon inside the Cass High School auditorium.

Despite Florida being in contention and hosting head coach Billy Napier for an in-person visit in late January, Alabama appears to be the frontrunner in McWhorter’s recruitment.

During an early February junior day visit to Tuscaloosa, McWhorter reportedly felt like a top priority for the Crimson Tide.

“They make me feel like I’m the No. 1 offensive lineman on their board,” McWhorter told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman.

According to 247Sports, Alabama and Michigan are currently considered “warm” in McWhorter’s recruitment.

The Gators currently have three commitments in their 2026 recruiting class, headlined by four-star quarterback Will Griffin. He is joined by four-star defensive backs Devin Jackson and Jaelen Waters.

Although still early in the cycle, Florida’s 2026 class is ranked in the top 30 by both 247Sports and On3, with On3 placing them at No. 15 overall.
