With the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season and Super Bowl LIX in the books, the league’s attention now shifts to the 2025 NFL Draft. This year’s draft class is widely regarded as weaker than usual, particularly at the quarterback position.

One of the top quarterback prospects, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, remains a mystery in terms of draft positioning. Some mock drafts project him as the No. 1 overall pick to the Tennessee Titans, while others suggest he could fall outside the top five.

In his latest mock draft, The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner has Sanders landing at No. 6 with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Baumgardner noted that while he believes Washington State’s Cameron Ward has a stronger long-term upside, Sanders could have a more impressive rookie season. He compared Sanders to a more athletic version of Bo Nix, describing him as a mobile and accurate quarterback with toughness but one who will rely more on the talent around him than most top-10 picks.

There has been speculation that the Raiders might trade up to secure Sanders, but if he falls to them at No. 6, it would be an ideal outcome. Sanders has expressed interest in playing for Las Vegas, making this scenario a potential win for both the team and the young quarterback.
