The New England Patriots are in dire need of wide receiver help, with limited options in free agency. If the Bengals don’t tag Tee Higgins, he remains the top target, but the trade market might be New England’s best bet.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, an AFC executive believes the Patriots would be “foolish” not to pursue veteran receiver Cooper Kupp, despite his declining play and hefty price tag. With free agents hesitant to sign with New England in recent years, a trade may be the most viable route.

Adding an interesting twist, current Patriots receiver Kendrick Bourne—Kupp’s former college teammate—is reportedly pushing for the move. While a trade for Kupp might be costly, he could be the most realistic option for a Patriots offense in need of firepower.
