One NFL Draft can dramatically alter a franchise’s trajectory—sometimes even a single pick can turn despair into success. That was the case for the Denver Broncos in 2024 when they selected quarterback Bo Nix at No. 12, helping propel them toward playoff contention. Now, what does their outlook for the 2025 NFL Draft hold?

After a solid 10-7 season and a first-round playoff exit, the Broncos will pick at No. 20 in the upcoming draft, scheduled for April 24. Early speculation points to Denver targeting offensive weapons to support Nix, particularly at wide receiver and tight end, positions where the team seeks reinforcements. Running back, linebacker, safety, and nose tackle are also areas of need, though the focus appears to be on adding pass-catchers.

Several early mock drafts have predicted potential picks for Denver. CBS Sports projects Michigan tight end Colston Loveland as a strong fit, while ESPN suggests Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III as a viable option. Meanwhile, USA Today has Heisman runner-up running back Ashton Jeanty from Boise State as the favorite to land in orange and blue.

The Broncos have nearly a full complement of picks this year, holding selections in the second, third, and fourth rounds. While they’ll skip the fifth round, Denver has three picks in the sixth round, with potential changes once compensatory selections are announced by the NFL.

Historically, the No. 20 pick has been a favorable spot for Denver. Past selections include tight end Noah Fant in 2019, tackle Garett Bolles—still with the team—and Hall of Fame safety Steve Atwater, drafted in 1989. This history could be a positive omen as the Broncos aim to make another impactful selection.

With strong options like Loveland, Burden, and Jeanty already in the mix, the Broncos’ 2025 draft plans hold the potential to further shape their promising future.
