Former Denver Broncos cornerback K’Waun Williams is preparing to retire from the NFL, according to a report by Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette.

Williams’ agent, Evan Krakower, confirmed that the 33-year-old plans to make his retirement official in the coming weeks.

Williams began his NFL journey in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from the University of Pittsburgh, signing with the Cleveland Browns. After two seasons with Cleveland, a brief stint with the Chicago Bears was cut short due to injury.

In 2017, Williams joined the San Francisco 49ers, where he thrived as a premier slot cornerback over five seasons. The Denver Broncos brought him on board in 2022 with a two-year, $7 million deal. Williams performed well in his debut season in Denver, recording seven pass breakups, one interception, and one sack. However, his time with the team was marred by injuries, including an ankle issue that sidelined him for the entirety of the 2023 season.

The Broncos chose not to re-sign Williams in 2024, and he remained out of action that year. Now transitioning to a new chapter, Williams is working in commercial real estate in Florida, according to Krakower.

Over his NFL career, Williams appeared in 105 games, totaling 34 pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, eight sacks, and five interceptions.
