The Ohio State Buckeyes still have an opportunity to achieve the ultimate goal they set at the beginning of the 2024 season: winning a national championship. Despite last week’s heartbreaking fourth consecutive loss to the Michigan Wolverines, the journey is far from over.

Ohio State has secured a spot in the College Football Playoff, keeping their title hopes alive. With the talent on their roster, Ryan Day and his team remain capable of making a deep run and potentially capturing the championship.

ESPN’s AllState Playoff Predictor sheds light on Ohio State’s chances, giving them a 14 percent probability of winning it all—tied with Notre Dame and second only to Texas, which leads with a 23 percent chance. In the grand scheme, those odds are promising.

The Buckeyes boast one of the most talented rosters in the country, which has been evident throughout the season. They nearly upset top-ranked Oregon on the road and recently dominated Indiana, showcasing their ability to compete with any team in the nation. A single rivalry loss shouldn’t define their potential.

That said, the loss to Michigan did reveal areas for improvement. To contend for a championship, Ohio State must address those weaknesses. The good news is they have time to make the necessary adjustments.

For the Buckeyes to reach their full potential, unity will be key. They need to regroup as a team and continue to receive unwavering support from their fans. Ohio State’s season is far from over, and with their immense talent, they’re still well-positioned to pursue the national championship they’ve been striving for all year.
