C.J. Stroud Discusses Titans’ Defense, Jeffery Simmons, and Texans Fans
On Facing the Titans’ Defense and DT Jeffery Simmons:
C.J. Stroud acknowledged the challenge the Houston Texans will face against a strong Tennessee Titans defense.
“They’re very talented. They have a really good defense, and they’ve put that on film,” Stroud said. “They’re almost top 10 in every category we review on days like today. They’re number one on third down and have a lot of playmakers. [DT] Jeffery Simmons is a great player. [CB] L’Jarius Sneed, though he’s been out, is also a great player. I think they have a good group overall. It’s going to be a challenge for us.”
On the Support from Texans Fans at AT&T Stadium:
Stroud also reflected on the incredible atmosphere created by Texans fans during their game at AT&T Stadium.
“That was amazing. It inspired me to play well and have fun,” Stroud shared. “When we ran out before the game, it was loud. I was like, ‘Oh, shoot, this is crazy, this is cool.’ I just appreciate Texans Nation for showing up and being there with us.
“H-Town is live now. We’re rolling, and we’re going to keep this thing going. The more support we get, it really does help us as a team. Looking up into the stands, we do it not just for ourselves but also for our families, for God, and for our fans. I definitely felt their presence. It reminded me of college—when we played Northwestern at Wrigley Field, and the stands were all red. It felt the same in Cowboys Stadium, and it was pretty cool.”
Stroud’s remarks highlight both his respect for the Titans and his appreciation for the growing energy around the Texans’ fanbase.
