Baltimore Ravens cornerback Arthur Maulet, a former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, will miss his anticipated revenge game against his former team after suffering a calf injury during Thursday’s practice. The Ravens officially ruled him out on Friday, eliminating any possibility of his participation.

Maulet had returned to action in the past three games after dealing with earlier injuries this season. Known for his skills as a slot cornerback and an effective blitzer, Maulet’s absence could impact the Ravens’ defensive game plan against Pittsburgh’s run game. In his stead, the Ravens are expected to rely on Ar’Darius Washington and possibly move Kyle Hamilton into the slot role.

Maulet joined the Ravens in the summer after being released by the Steelers following the 2022 season. During his two seasons in Pittsburgh, he primarily contributed as a rotational slot corner and was utilized frequently as a blitzer.

Earlier this week, Maulet shared insights into how the Steelers might defend Lamar Jackson, suggesting that their past strategies could be vulnerable to the current version of Baltimore’s star quarterback. With Maulet sidelined, the Ravens will face the challenge of adjusting their defense while looking to exploit Pittsburgh’s game plan.
