Mark Pope has successfully added his third recruit to the 2025 class, securing four-star guard Acaden Lewis, who chose Kentucky over Duke and UConn. Ranked as the 36th-best player in the 2025 class, many believe it’s difficult to find 35 players superior to him.

Lewis is an ideal addition to Kentucky’s backcourt for the 2025 recruiting class, slated to play the point guard position while Jasper Johnson will take on the shooting guard role. Known for his exceptional passing skills, Lewis also possesses shooting ability, making him a great fit for Coach Pope’s strategy.

With Lewis now on board, there’s optimism that Caleb Wilson, a top-ten player in the 2025 class who has expressed a desire to play alongside Lewis, will soon commit to Kentucky as well.

Coach Pope has already assembled an impressive 2025 class with the signings of Lewis, Johnson, and Malachi Moreno. If he can secure Wilson’s commitment, this could be the top recruiting class in the country.

In less than six months at Kentucky, Coach Pope has effectively dispelled doubts regarding his recruiting capabilities.

According to Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports, “Overall, he’s one of the most talented guards in the country in terms of what he can do with the ball in his hands, but his long-term ceiling will be based on his efficiency, defensive commitment, ability to build up his body, and withstand physicality in the years ahead.”
