The New York Mets will start the 2024 season without their expected opening-day pitcher, Kodai Senga, who is dealing with arm fatigue. General manager David Stearns announced on Thursday that an MRI showed Senga has a moderate capsule strain in his right shoulder and will be sidelined until he recovers. Senga will begin the regular season on the injured list. Despite a strong debut season in MLB, where he posted a 12-7 record with a 2.98 ERA after signing a lucrative contract with the Mets, Senga experienced arm fatigue during a recent training session, prompting further tests which confirmed the strain.
