Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon remains day-to-day with an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the past two games, head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed Monday. Wide receiver Tank Dell, who is dealing with a chest injury, also remains uncertain after missing Sunday’s 24-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“We’ll evaluate them this week in practice,” Ryans said, referring to both Mixon and Dell, as the Texans (3-1) gear up to face the Buffalo Bills (3-1) on Sunday.

Mixon, 28, has been Houston’s top rusher this season, accumulating 184 yards on 39 carries across two starts. He suffered the ankle injury during the Week 2 victory against the Chicago Bears.

Meanwhile, Dell, 24, ranks third on the team in receiving yards with 99 on nine catches. He sustained bruised ribs in the Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Both players’ statuses remain uncertain as the Texans look ahead to a critical matchup with the Bills.
