Carolina Panthers’ starting left guard Damien Lewis might have to hold off on putting on his big boy pants for another week. As anticipated, the veteran lineman won’t be available for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Lewis, who tore his UCL during the Week 3 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, was absent from all practices this week.

Second-year lineman Chandler Zavala, a 2023 fourth-round pick, will step in for Lewis.

However, in an unexpected twist, fellow starting guard Robert Hunt was limited in practice due to a hip injury and is now listed as questionable. If Hunt is unable to play, Brady Christensen will take his place, according to head coach Dave Canales.

On a positive note, wide receiver Diontae Johnson is expected to return after missing Thursday’s practice due to precautionary rest for a groin strain.
