On Tuesday, the Buccaneers completed their roster cuts to the 53-man limit, offering fans their initial glimpse at the 2024 team.

The Buccaneers’ final roster cuts were largely expected, with few surprises in their journey to the 53-man limit. Long snapper Zach Triner, the most tenured player released, was joined by veteran quarterback John Wolford and tight end David Wells as notable cuts.

Despite a reduction in undrafted rookies, cornerback Tyrek Funderburk and wide receiver Kameron Johnson managed to secure spots on the initial roster. The 2024 roster heavily leans toward Tampa Bay’s drafted players, with 36 out of 53 being draft picks. Only two starters—quarterback Baker Mayfield and guard Ben Bredeson—were signed as free agents.

While the Bucs may make minor adjustments as they claim waived players from other teams, significant changes are unlikely. The next focus for the front office will be completing the practice squad, expected to be finalized by week’s end.
