Just days after resuming training, reports have emerged that the Wests Tigers have extended Adam Doueihi a contract offer, spanning a minimum of one year. Doueihi, plagued by injuries and now at 25 years old, has endured three ACL injuries, the latest sidelining him for a year. With his current contract expiring soon, doubts lingered about his market appeal. However, the Tigers are allegedly proposing a one-year deal valued at approximately $150,000 annually, per The Sydney Morning Herald.

NRL news 2024: Injured star Adam Doueihi reportedly offered $150,000 contract extension by Wests Tigers; Phil Gould comments

Despite being a key performer when fit, doubts persist regarding Doueihi’s future, with his return to play still several weeks away and his fitness requiring further attention. His versatility across multiple positions adds to his allure, but other NRL clubs’ interest remains uncertain.

Phil Gould of the Canterbury Bulldogs cautioned Doueihi against committing until he’s back on the field, citing his injury history. While $150,000 could be a bargain for his talent, Gould believes Doueihi should prioritize proving his fitness before considering contracts.

Since his 2018 debut, Doueihi has amassed 87 NRL appearances and represented Lebanon in seven Tests.
