The Wests Tigers are facing a dilemma in their halfback positions due to injuries to two key players ahead of their upcoming match against the Newcastle Knights.

With Aidan Sezer suspended for four matches by the Match Review Committee, the club planned to debut Lachlan Galvin and Latu Fainu as their starting halves for the weekend game. However, both young players have reportedly suffered injuries, with Fainu sustaining a hamstring injury and Galvin undergoing scans for a hand injury sustained in the previous match against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Fortunately, Galvin has been cleared of any serious injury and will partner with Jayden Sullivan in the halves, while Fainu will miss the match due to his hamstring injury.

There are concerns within the club regarding Fainu’s recurring hamstring issues, which have plagued him since the preseason and caused him to miss the start of the season. Despite his desire to secure a starting position, Fainu is committed to playing wherever needed for the team, even if it means coming off the bench or playing in a different position.
