Raiders Enter New Era, Eye Top Talent with No. 6 Pick in 2025 NFL Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders have undergone major changes following a disappointing 2024 season, including hiring a new head coach and general manager. They’ve also brought in veteran quarterback Geno Smith and added fresh faces on defense.

With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, the Raiders are in position to make a splash with the No. 6 overall pick. Here are three top prospects who could be great fits in Vegas:

1. Ashton Jeanty, RB – Boise State

Jeanty has become a popular mock draft pick for the Raiders — and for good reason. After rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024 and finishing second in Heisman voting, he’s widely seen as the most complete back in the draft.

Las Vegas had the league’s worst rushing offense last season. While they added Raheem Mostert, he’s not a long-term solution. Jeanty could start right away and bring explosiveness and consistency to the backfield.

2. Will Johnson, CB – Michigan

With the Raiders thin in the secondary — especially after cutting Jack Jones — cornerback Will Johnson could be an immediate starter. Johnson posted 14 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 3 pass deflections in 2024 and had an even better 2023 season.

He’d be a strong fit opposite Jakorian Bennett, helping solidify a weak spot on the defense.

3. Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona

If the Raiders look to bolster the offense further, Tetairoa McMillan could be their guy. The Arizona star had 84 catches for 1,319 yards and 8 touchdowns last season and is viewed as a future No. 1 wide receiver.

While Vegas has Brock Bowers at tight end and Jakobi Meyers as a solid veteran WR, McMillan would give Geno Smith a big-bodied, reliable deep threat — something this offense lacks.

The Raiders are looking to rebound quickly, and with the right pick at No. 6, they could land a cornerstone player to jumpstart their rebuild.
