Rivals150 Prospect Parker Jefferson Seeks Release from Gophers Commitment

Minnesota signee Parker Jefferson has officially requested a release from his National Letter of Intent, Gophers Nation has confirmed.

The 6-foot-10 Texas native, currently playing in Inglewood, California, is now the second 2025 signee to withdraw, following Jacob Ross. This leaves Philadelphia guard Kai Shinholster as the lone remaining commit in Minnesota’s 2025 class.

Jefferson originally chose Minnesota over USC, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, LSU, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UCF, citing the Gophers’ strong interest in him from the start.

With Jefferson’s departure, new head coach Niko Medved faces a depleted recruiting class, with only three potential scholarship players committed for the 2025-26 season. Minnesota is left with 12 open scholarships and just two returning players from the 2024-25 roster—Isaac Asuma and Grayson Grove—while Shinholster’s status remains uncertain.
