Notre Dame’s Jadin O’Brien Adds Another Chapter to Her Storied Career

Notre Dame track and field star Jadin O’Brien continues to build an incredible legacy. This week, she successfully defended her 2023 NCAA Indoor pentathlon title, winning back-to-back championships in dominant fashion.

O’Brien didn’t just reclaim her crown—she shattered records in the process. Competing at The Track at New Balance, she set a new facility record with a staggering 4,497 points, far surpassing the previous mark of 4,329.

Her performance was nothing short of elite, finishing first in the shot put, second in the 800 meters, and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, according to Notre Dame Athletics.

O’Brien’s dominance didn’t go unnoticed. She was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Indoor Field Athlete of the Year for an incredible third time. This honor follows her ACC and NCAA pentathlon victories, where she set personal, school, conference, and facility records in both competitions.

While football and basketball often steal the spotlight, O’Brien’s achievements serve as a powerful reminder that Notre Dame is home to world-class athletes across all sports.
