Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks faced a setback earlier this week when 4-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui decommitted from the 2026 class. However, Lanning quickly rebounded with major recruiting news on Thursday.

Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, 4-star RB Tradarian Ball, the No. 3-ranked back in the 2026 class, has officially shut down his recruitment and reaffirmed his commitment to Oregon.

Ball, who initially pledged to the Ducks in August 2024, had entertained interest from other programs but is now fully locked in with Oregon. Rated as the No. 50 overall player by 247Sports, Ball is one of the Ducks’ top verbal commitments.

At Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp, the Texas RB showcased his elite versatility, excelling not only as a runner but also as a dynamic receiving threat. USA Today’s Zachary Neel highlighted his standout performance in one-on-one drills, praising his hands, body control, and route-running ability.

Currently, Oregon holds the No. 6-ranked recruiting class for 2026, but that ranking could rise soon. The Ducks are strong contenders for 5-star QB Jared Curtis, the nation’s No. 1 passer, who announces his decision on May 5, as well as 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell and other elite prospects.
