The Auburn Tigers have officially extended an offer to four-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton from Rochester, N.Y., during his recent visit to the Plains. Auburn joins a growing list of programs pursuing Hampton, who currently holds 25 offers.
According to 247Sports, six schools have been classified as ‘warm’ in his recruitment: Oregon, USC, Ohio State, Miami (FL), Penn State, and Syracuse. Hampton has scheduled visits with all of them following their spring practices, except for Syracuse, which he will visit soon. Auburn has not yet arranged a follow-up visit with the talented receiver.
Hampton was particularly excited about Auburn’s offer, as it marked just his second from an SEC program and the first from one of the conference’s powerhouse teams. His only other SEC offer so far has come from Kentucky. However, as a member of the 2026 class, he still has plenty of time to showcase his skills and attract more attention from top programs.
During his visit to Auburn, Hampton received a clear message from the coaching staff.
“Give [Auburn] a real evaluation,” Hampton told Auburn Rivals. “They feel like they’re a little late, but it’s perfect timing. Just give [Auburn] a real evaluation. If you’re big on faith, love, and family, then this is the place for you.”
Hampton is taking that message to heart, adjusting his visit schedule to include Auburn among his potential destinations for official visits. His goal is to attend a spring practice and make a final commitment decision by July, according to Auburn Rivals.
