COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has already secured one offensive line commitment from Northeast Ohio for the 2026 class, and now the Buckeyes are eyeing Sam Greer as their next big addition.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle from Archbishop Hoban visited Columbus on Monday, attending the Buckeyes’ first spring practice while meeting new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen in person for the first time. Bowen, who took over in February, has made Greer a top priority in the recruiting process.

“What stands out about him is his size,” Greer remarked about Bowen. “He has a broader perspective on the whole field, having been an offensive coordinator. He’s going to help with pass protection reads and adjustments, which is really exciting.”

Ranked as the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2026 class per 247Sports composite rankings, Greer is already receiving national attention. His visit list includes powerhouse programs such as Michigan, Miami, Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida, and Florida State. Though he has scheduled an official visit to Ohio State, he plans to finalize the rest before announcing his trip to Columbus.

In the meantime, current Buckeyes commit Deontae Riley has been actively recruiting Greer to join him in the Scarlet and Gray. “I’ve been hearing from him,” Greer admitted. “We spent a lot of time together yesterday, just talking with our trainer.”

While the appeal of staying in-state looms large, Greer is taking a measured approach. “Some people are just fans and say, ‘Go to Ohio State,’ but others understand that you have to find the best fit for you,” he said. “At the end of the day, I’m the one putting in the work every day.”

If Ohio State wins Greer’s commitment, it would further solidify an already strong foundation in the trenches for the Buckeyes’ 2026 class.
