Oregon State Completes Staff with WR Coach Pat McCann, Aiming for Offensive Firepower

Oregon State has officially named Pat McCann as its new wide receivers coach, finalizing the coaching staff for the upcoming season. Head coach Trent Bray praised McCann’s track record of developing standout receiving corps, including his time at Fresno State, where he served as offensive coordinator. Despite a challenging 2024 season, McCann helped guide the Bulldogs to the No. 4 passing offense in their conference, averaging 242.46 yards per game. His coaching resume includes multiple All-Conference receivers and a reputation for offensive innovation.

By the Numbers:
🏈 Fresno State ranked No. 4 in conference passing offense (242.46 YPG in 2024).
🏈 McCann developed two All-Mountain West receivers last season, including his second 1,000-yard receiver at the program.

The Challenge:
While McCann brings proven offensive expertise, his transition to Oregon State follows a season of mixed results at Fresno State, raising questions about consistency. Adapting to a new roster and maintaining high production will be key to his success.
