Notre Dame’s Rylie Mills Focused on Tape, Not Workouts, as He Eyes NFL Future

Rylie Mills arrived at the NFL Combine with a different journey than expected, recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the College Football Playoff. Though unable to showcase his athleticism on the field, the Notre Dame defensive tackle is confident his game film speaks for itself.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Mills was a force on the Irish defensive line, leading the team with 7.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss. Despite missing the final three games, his dominance was undeniable.

Rather than letting his injury slow him down, Mills has been locked in on film study, analyzing every NFL defensive scheme to prove he’s mentally prepared for the league. He views his team interviews at the Combine as his “Super Bowl,” determined to showcase his football IQ and readiness for the next level.

With eyes on a full recovery by training camp, Mills hasn’t ruled out a potential homecoming with the Chicago Bears, a team known for investing in local talent. Wherever he lands, Mills is confident he’ll be an impact player in the NFL.
