The Auburn Tigers’ 2024 season was one to forget, finishing 5-7 with just two SEC wins. However, 2025 brings fresh hope, with Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold stepping in as the starting quarterback.
Since Gus Malzahn’s departure in 2020, Auburn hasn’t won more than six games in a season and last hit the 10-win mark in 2017. Despite two BCS Championship appearances in the 2010s, the Tigers haven’t performed at the level expected of a top-tier SEC program in recent years.
Looking ahead, Auburn’s passing attack is generating buzz, as PFF ranked two of its receivers among the nation’s top returning talents.
Georgia Tech transfer Eric Singleton Jr. landed at No. 5, known for his big-play ability with multiple 45-yard-plus receptions in 2024. He finished with 56 catches, 754 yards, and three touchdowns, plus 131 rushing yards and another score.
Right behind him at No. 6 is rising sophomore Cam Coleman, a highly touted recruit who posted 37 catches, 598 yards, and eight touchdowns as a freshman. His late-season surge—22 catches, 306 yards, and six touchdowns in the final three games—showcased his elite potential.
Auburn was the only school with two receivers in PFF’s Top 10, a rare feat typically reserved for powerhouse programs like Alabama and Ohio State. If Arnold delivers on his five-star promise and Hugh Freeze maximizes his weapons, the Tigers could feature one of the most explosive offenses in college football next season.
