The New York Jets face a tough choice regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They could retain him and attempt another run in 2025, or they could cut ties and start fresh with a new head coach and quarterback.

While the Jets seem inclined to keep Rodgers and build around him for another season, that could change quickly. Some doubt the 41-year-old will still be in New York by September.

Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette recently speculated on Rodgers’ future, predicting he could land with the Las Vegas Raiders. Dougherty noted that the Raiders, with nearly $95 million in cap space, could improve their roster while drafting a quarterback who wouldn’t have to start immediately if Rodgers joined. He also pointed out that new head coach Pete Carroll, who turns 74 in September, likely wasn’t hired for a long-term rebuild.

Dougherty also mentioned the Raiders could explore trades for Sam Darnold or Kirk Cousins, but Rodgers heading to Vegas remains a strong possibility, especially with Tom Brady’s growing influence in the organization.

With plenty of cap space, a prime market, and a veteran coach, Las Vegas could be an appealing destination for Rodgers. If they land him, their rebuild could accelerate much faster than expected.
