The New England Patriots are in dire need of wide receiver help this offseason, and one of the NFL’s top playmakers has just confirmed he’s on the trade block.
Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp announced Monday night that the team has informed him they plan to trade him.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA…
“Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys.. But coming for it all,” Kupp shared on X.
At 31, Kupp is on the older side and has battled injuries, but he’d be a major upgrade for a Patriots receiving corps that ranked among the league’s worst last season.
When fully healthy in 2021, Kupp dominated with 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns on 145 receptions. While he hasn’t played more than 12 games in a season since, he has still managed to surpass 700 yards in each of the last three years.
If the price is right, Kupp could be exactly what New England needs to revamp its struggling offense.
