Florida State Expands Recruiting Push, Offers Auburn Commit Shadarius Toodle

Florida State’s coaching staff has been relentless on the recruiting trail this January, crisscrossing the country to connect with prospects and hosting top talent in Tallahassee. Their latest move? Extending an offer to four-star linebacker and current Auburn commit, Shadarius Toodle.

Toodle announced the offer on social media, referencing head coach Mike Norvell and defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. Despite committing to Auburn in July, his recruitment remains active, with Georgia also offering him earlier this month. The Seminoles will need to prioritize getting him back on campus, as his last visit to FSU was in April 2023.

During his junior season at Cottage Hill Christian Academy, Toodle was a force on both sides of the ball. He racked up 157 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception. Offensively, he contributed 297 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and 197 receiving yards on 15 catches. He had nine games with 10+ tackles, including three performances of 20+ tackles.

Standing at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Toodle is ranked No. 74 nationally, the No. 5 linebacker, and the No. 5 player in Alabama for the 2026 class, per 247Sports.

FSU’s 2026 Recruiting Class:

  • Four-Star WR Efrem White
  • Four-Star WR Darryon Williams
  • Four-Star DB Darryl Bell III
  • Four-Star RB Amari Clemons
  • Three-Star DB Tedarius Hughes
  • Three-Star OL Xavier Payne

Despite having six commitments, Florida State has yet to secure a linebacker in its 2026 class.

FSU’s 2025 Linebacker Depth Chart:

The Seminoles will have a mix of experience and young talent at linebacker in 2025, led by redshirt senior Stefon Thompson and senior Elijah Herring. Other key players include redshirt juniors Omar Graham Jr. and AJ Cottrill, along with juniors Blake Nichelson and Justin Cryer.

With Toodle still evaluating his options, FSU will look to make a strong impression as they continue to reshape their future linebacker corps.
