The college football season has concluded with the Big Ten securing back-to-back championships. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Gophers have shifted their focus to 2025 after capping off their season with a victory over Virginia Tech in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. Their presence will also be felt in upcoming college all-star showcases.
The Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl are two of the most prestigious events for players aiming to impress NFL scouts. Minnesota will now have another representative heading to the East-West Shrine Bowl in Texas.
Ethan Robinson to Represent Gophers in Shrine Bowl
After spending three years at Bucknell, cornerback Ethan Robinson transferred to Minnesota to prove himself at the Power 5 level. His standout season earned him a spot in the East-West Shrine Bowl, a key step in showcasing his NFL potential.
Robinson played in 13 games this season, recording 29 tackles (three for loss), three interceptions, eight passes defensed, and a forced fumble. One of his interceptions played a pivotal role in keeping the Gophers competitive in a hard-fought game against Michigan, although a controversial onside kick decision ultimately impacted the outcome.
Robinson will join teammate Tyler Cooper on the East roster, representing Minnesota at the Shrine Bowl. Adding to the intrigue, Robinson will face his practice opponent, Gophers quarterback Max Brosmer, who is set to play on the West roster.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is scheduled for January 30, 2025, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
