It’s an exciting day for NFL fans as the AFC and NFC Championship games kick off, with Super Bowl 59 spots at stake.
In the NFC, the Washington Commanders aim for their first Super Bowl appearance in 33 years as they face the Philadelphia Eagles, who are seeking their third trip in seven seasons. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills in the AFC, with the Chiefs chasing their third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
For those without a team allegiance, cheering for former Notre Dame stars might add to the excitement. Six Golden Domers are featured across the rosters of these final four teams:
Philadelphia Eagles:
- Ian Book, QB: After being signed to the Eagles’ active roster due to injuries to Jalen Hurts and Kenny Pickett, Book is now on the practice squad.
Washington Commanders:
- Sheldon Day, DL: A seasoned NFL player since 2016, Day achieved a career-high 24 tackles this regular season.
- Javontae Jean-Baptiste, DE: The rookie recorded 13 tackles and a sack during the regular season, plus three more tackles in the playoffs.
- Sam Hartman, QB: Signed as a free agent, Hartman was briefly promoted to the active roster and now contributes from the practice squad.
 Kansas City Chiefs:
- Drue Tranquill, LB: The former Notre Dame captain had 94 tackles, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries this season, pursuing his second ring in Kansas City.
- Spencer Shrader, K: Although sidelined by injury, Shrader excelled earlier this season, hitting all five field goals and nine extra points he attempted.
As the championship games unfold, these Notre Dame alumni are ready to leave their mark on the NFL’s biggest stage.
