The 2025 Polynesian Bowl took place on Friday night in Honolulu, Hawaii, showcasing some of the top talent from the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. Team Makai edged out Team Mauka with a 28-21 victory.
Among the standout performers were a pair of Tennessee Vols signees who made their mark on the scoreboard.
Quarterback George MacIntyre and tight end DaSaahn Brame, both part of Tennessee’s 2025 class, delivered impressive performances. MacIntyre connected on a deep flag route to 2026 Top 100 prospect Brock Harris, setting up Team Mauka inside the 10-yard line. He followed it up with a precise touchdown pass to 2025 Ole Miss signee Winston Watkins, Jr., threading the ball just ahead of a defender.
Meanwhile, Brame made a strong impression early in the game, racking up 72 receiving yards and a wide-open touchdown in the first quarter. He finished the night with four receptions for 92 yards and a score, solidifying his reputation as a key weapon for the Vols.
Not to be overshadowed, 5-star offensive tackle signee David Sanders, Jr. turned heads with a remarkable sideline catch and drew high praise for his blocking skills. Rivals highlighted Sanders for “stonewalling” defenders throughout the game and recognizing him as the top player at his position.
Tennessee fans have every reason to be excited about the 2025 class, with Sanders, Brame, and others showing tremendous potential. Their immediate impact could be a game-changer in Knoxville this fall.
