The Los Angeles Rams released their Thursday injury report, revealing that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith missed practice for the second consecutive day due to a hamstring injury.

Smith, who played last week against the Washington Commanders despite being limited in practice, had one of his lowest production games of the season, recording just four catches for 29 yards. He also struggled in the previous game against the Dallas Cowboys, catching only two passes for 14 yards.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Smith, who has been a key target for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts this season with 56 targets, missed the Eagles’ Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a concussion. In that game, the Eagles were held to a season-low 16 points.

Despite missing three games early in the season, Smith’s teammate AJ Brown leads the Eagles in receiving yards with 618, 102 yards ahead of Smith. The Rams will face a significant challenge against the Eagles’ high-powered offense, especially given their struggles against teams with multiple elite receiving options and speed, like Smith and Brown. If the Eagles also feature top running back Saquon Barkley, the Rams’ defense could face an especially tough test.

A comparable challenge the Rams faced this season came in their matchup with the Detroit Lions, where the Rams struggled against their trio of playmakers: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Montgomery rushed for 91 yards at 5.4 yards per carry, while Williams caught five passes for 121 yards.

When the Rams faced the Eagles last season, Smith was limited to just one catch for six yards.
