With Kentucky set to rely heavily on three-point shooting this season, having the best shooter in college basketball is a significant asset for Mark Pope. Fortunately, Coach Pope is fortunate enough to have Koby Brea, widely regarded as the top shooter in college hoops, on his roster.

Heading into the season, Brea was already considered one of the best shooters in the game, and he’s certainly lived up to that reputation so far. Averaging 14.5 points per game, Brea has been especially impressive from beyond the arc, hitting 15 of his 19 three-point attempts for an outstanding 78.9% shooting clip. While that percentage is likely to normalize, it’s possible he could still maintain a shooting rate near 50% throughout the season.

When asked about the source of his confidence, Brea credited his teammates and coaches, saying, “I get confidence from the team and coaching staff. They do a great job of instilling trust in me. Their belief in me makes everything easier. On the floor, when you’re able to move freely, it all just flows. I take my time, stay patient, and trust that it will go in.”

For Brea, each shot feels like it’s going in. Fans expected him to excel in Coach Pope’s system, but few could have predicted his remarkable 15-19 start from three.

With a confident Koby Brea leading the way, the Wildcats have a dangerous weapon on their hands, one that will make other teams take notice this season.
