With the Cleveland Browns sitting at 2-8 through the first 10 games of the 2024 NFL season, the franchise faces critical decisions heading into the offseason. Chief among them is determining who will lead the team in 2025.
Speculation has mounted about the futures of GM Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski, both of whom are reportedly on the hot seat after the Browns’ disappointing performance this season. However, NFL analyst Mike Golic shared a different perspective on the situation during Thursday’s episode of Gojo and Golic.
“I think there are a lot more tenuous situations for GMs and coaches in the league than in Cleveland,” Golic said, via DraftKings Network’s X account. “I do think that Berry and Stefanski will be in Cleveland next year.”
Golic attributed much of Cleveland’s current struggles to the team’s blockbuster acquisition of Deshaun Watson. The Browns traded three first-round draft picks and additional selections to acquire Watson from the Houston Texans, then signed him to a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract.

“This mistake has slapped them so hard in the face,” Golic said. “They can’t hide from it, they can’t talk around it, and they can’t try and massage it.”
According to Golic, the Browns’ top priority in 2025 will be addressing the quarterback position. He suggested re-signing current starter Jameis Winston as a “bridge” quarterback to ease the transition for a potential rookie starter.
The Haslam-led ownership group has a significant decision to make. Will they stick with the current leadership structure and attempt to rebuild around a new quarterback, or will sweeping changes define the next chapter for Cleveland?
