Florida Gators Land Key Commitments in Back-to-Back Recruiting Wins Over FSU

The Florida Gators’ momentum on the recruiting trail surged again as former Florida State offensive line commit Daniel Pierre Louis flipped to Florida on Monday.

Pierre Louis, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound interior offensive lineman from Loxahatchee, Fla., becomes the 14th commit for Florida’s 2025 class and the first offensive lineman to join the group. A 3-star prospect per 247 Sports, Pierre Louis previously received offers from programs such as Vanderbilt, NC State, and FSU.

His decision to flip comes amid recent changes in Florida State’s coaching staff, including the departure of offensive line coach Alex Atkins. Relationships often play a key role in recruiting, and the absence of his primary recruiter at FSU likely contributed to the switch.

The timing of Pierre Louis’s visit to Gainesville this weekend also proved pivotal. Following the visit, multiple recruiting services predicted he would commit to head coach Billy Napier and the Gators, which became official shortly after.

This marks the second significant flip for Florida in two days. On Sunday, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. also changed his commitment from Florida State to Florida. The Gators added another boost Monday with a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers, rounding out a successful recruiting weekend.

Florida’s strong recruiting efforts underscore the program’s ability to capitalize on opportunities, including gaining ground on key rivals like Florida State.
