The Tennessee Volunteers will have quarterback Nico Iamaleava back in the lineup for their crucial matchup against Georgia on Saturday night in Athens.

Iamaleava, Tennessee’s starting quarterback, had been listed as questionable throughout the week after entering concussion protocol following a hit during the first half of the Mississippi State game. However, ESPN’s Chris Low reported that Iamaleava successfully cleared all concussion protocols and received medical clearance to play.

Head coach Josh Heupel expressed optimism throughout the week, noting that Iamaleava practiced and showed positive signs of readiness. Ultimately, the decision rested with the medical staff, who gave the green light for the quarterback to return.

Iamaleava’s return is a significant boost for the Volunteers. A victory against Georgia would position Tennessee as a frontrunner for the SEC Championship and bring them closer to securing a spot in the College Football Playoff.
