Four-star small forward Samis Calderon, ranked No. 67 in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, officially committed to and signed with Kansas on Wednesday. Calderon, originally from Brazil, currently plays for Cold Hearts, an Overtime Elite team based in Atlanta. Standing 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan and a strong 200-pound frame, Calderon is an explosive athlete, known for his 38-inch vertical leap and impressive speed in the open court.

While Calderon shines in transition, using his athleticism to his advantage, he has also demonstrated potential as a perimeter shooter. On the defensive side, his high motor and athletic range give him the ability to guard multiple positions—an essential trait for success at the professional level.

In Cold Hearts’ season opener, Calderon posted 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists, with highlights including two dunks and a three-pointer. At 19 years old, Calderon is older and more physically mature than many of his peers, making him one of the more college-ready recruits in the class.

He joins Darryn Peterson, the No. 3 overall recruit, as the only signees for Kansas’ Class of 2025. Despite having just two recruits, the Jayhawks’ class is currently ranked 18th nationally.
