The Cleveland Browns delivered contrasting performances in Weeks 8 and 9, showcasing a “Jekyll and Hyde” nature. In Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens, they appeared highly efficient, with Jameis Winston displaying accuracy and confidence, while the defense kept Lamar Jackson under pressure, leading to disrupted throws. However, the Ravens’ defense hasn’t been particularly strong, and Week 9 saw a shift as the Browns faced the more defensively adept Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers dominated, shutting down Cleveland’s passing and run game, especially stifling Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford. This crushing loss, occurring just before the Nov. 5 trade deadline and a Week 10 bye, has led to questions about possible roster changes. The Browns may look very different when they return in Week 11 to face the New Orleans Saints, with potential moves ranging from trading Za’Darius Smith to a full roster shakeup aimed at stockpiling draft picks for 2025.

Several players are rumored to be potential trade candidates. Za’Darius Smith is a likely trade option, as moving him would let the Browns retain Myles Garrett on the line while gaining a draft pick, likely a late-round selection, from a contender such as the Detroit Lions.

Elijah Moore, another player speculated to be on the trading block, has struggled this season despite showing flashes of talent. A change in scenery could benefit him, and teams needing wide receiver help, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, might be interested in exchange for a fourth or fifth-round pick.

Greg Newsome II, part of the Browns’ struggling secondary, may also be on the move. With limited production this season, he may only command a late-round pick as a backup corner addition for another team.

David Njoku has been a surprising name in trade discussions. Though he’s been productive, his high cap hit could motivate the Browns to seek a collection of picks in return. However, his strong skill set would demand substantial compensation.

Finally, Myles Garrett represents the Browns’ most valuable asset, though a trade is unlikely without a massive offer involving multiple first-round picks. Garrett’s dominant presence on defense could transform a contender’s chances, and teams like the Eagles or Lions may consider a blockbuster offer.

As the trade deadline approaches, it remains to be seen how aggressive the Browns will be in reshaping their roster for the future.
