NIX

The Denver Broncos have enjoyed an impressive rookie season from first-round pick Bo Nix, and his early success could prompt the team to consider moving on from one of their other quarterbacks.

Nix appears to be the franchise QB the Broncos have been searching for, and his strong performance has undoubtedly thrilled the organization. After finalizing their 53-man roster, the Broncos opted to keep both Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. There were two potential motivations for this decision: either to provide a veteran presence in case Nix struggled, or to retain a tradeable asset in case another team needed a quarterback, thus avoiding the need to cut them for nothing in return.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, making bold predictions ahead of the November 5 trade deadline, envisions the second scenario. He suggests the Tennessee Titans, potentially ready to move on from the Will Levis experiment, could take a chance on Wilson, the former No. 2 overall pick. Knox also mentions other young quarterbacks like Trey Lance, Mac Jones, and Bryce Young who might also attract Tennessee’s interest.

Wilson struggled during his time with the New York Jets but has shown promise since being acquired by the Broncos in the offseason, delivering a solid preseason. Although Broncos coach Sean Payton seems to believe Wilson has a future in the league, it likely won’t be in Denver as a starter, given Nix’s level of play.

Knox predicts the Titans may decide they’ve seen enough of Levis, and while Mason Rudolph is providing temporary stability, he isn’t viewed as a long-term solution. If the Titans were to trade for Wilson, it would likely cost them only a late-round pick, such as a fifth-rounder, allowing Wilson a chance to prove himself as a starter for the remainder of the season. This move could offer Wilson the perfect opportunity to revive his career, while the Broncos would gain an additional draft pick for 2025.

Unless the Broncos see Wilson as Nix’s long-term backup—which seems unlikely—they could consider offers from other teams eager to tap into Wilson’s potential. One of these offers may even come before the trade deadline on Tuesday.
