The Atlanta Falcons have bolstered their offensive line depth by signing Matthew Cindric to the practice squad, following the departure of offensive guard Andrew Stueber to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cindric, a 25-year-old offensive lineman, played 35 games with 34 starts at the University of California, Berkeley, splitting time between center and right guard. He was also a four-time Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll honoree and earned numerous off-field accolades, including being a two-time semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year, and Wuerffel Trophy. In 2023, he was named to the AFCA Good Works Team.
After going undrafted in 2024, Cindric initially signed with the Minnesota Vikings but was released after the team brought in veteran guard Dalton Risner. He was briefly re-signed by the Vikings in August before being waived again during final roster cuts.
Cindric, a 6-foot-4, 295-pound native of Sammamish, Washington, impressed the Falcons during a workout on Monday, securing a spot on the practice squad. He joins center Matt Hennessy as one of two offensive linemen on the practice squad. Hennessy has already been promoted to the active roster twice this season, with only one more elevation allowed.
The Falcons are set to return to practice on Wednesday ahead of their game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
