Titans quarterback Will Levis suffered an apparent right shoulder injury during the first quarter of Tennessee’s game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night and was listed as questionable to return.
Mason Rudolph stepped in for Levis, leading the Titans to three field goals in the first half and scoring 10 points in the third quarter. Tennessee held a 19-6 lead entering the final quarter in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Levis sustained the injury while scrambling to his right, diving for extra yardage. He extended both arms with the ball and landed hard on his shoulder out of bounds with just over seven minutes remaining in the first quarter, falling short of the first down.
When Tennessee got the ball back with 4:14 left in the quarter, Rudolph had replaced Levis.
Titans head coach Brian Callahan informed ESPN at halftime that Levis would return if cleared, but Rudolph remained in the game for the entire third quarter, with Levis on the sideline wearing his helmet.
Levis had thrown his sixth interception of the season before exiting. Coming into the game, he led the league with eight turnovers, including three lost fumbles. On Monday, he completed 3 of 4 passes for 25 yards before leaving the game.
