Saints tight end Taysom Hill returned to action on Sunday after missing the previous week’s loss to the Eagles due to a chest injury, but he was forced to exit the game early after suffering a different injury to a similar area.
After the game, head coach Dennis Allen provided an update, clarifying that Hill didn’t aggravate his previous injury but instead sustained an injury to the ribs on the opposite side of his body.
Before leaving the 29-27 loss, Hill managed to run for two touchdowns, leaving Alvin Kamara, who is also dealing with a rib injury, to take on the bulk of the backfield duties for the remainder of the game.
The Saints were also hit with more injuries as linebacker Willie Gay left during the game. Additionally, they were already missing linebacker Demario Davis, guard Cesar Ruiz, and center Erik McCoy. While McCoy remains on injured reserve, the team hopes to have some or all of the others back for their Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
