In a blog post on his website on Friday, veteran WR/RB Ty Montgomery announced his retirement from the NFL.
Montgomery, 31, was originally a third-round pick by the Packers in 2015. In 2018, Green Bay traded him to the Ravens for a 2020 seventh-round pick.
After completing his four-year, $2.949 million rookie contract, Montgomery signed a one-year deal with the Jets. He later joined the Saints on a one-year contract in 2020 and returned for another year in 2021.
In 2022, the Patriots signed Montgomery to a two-year deal, which he completed.
During the 2023 season, Montgomery played in 13 games, tallying three rushing attempts for nine yards (3 yards per carry) and five receptions for 40 yards (8 yards per catch).
Over his career, Montgomery played 92 games across stints with the Packers, Ravens, Jets, Saints, and Patriots. He started 20 games, amassing 263 carries for 1,187 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 147 receptions for 1,159 yards and four touchdowns.
We extend our best wishes to Montgomery as he steps away from the NFL.
