The Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) completed their final practice on Friday in preparation for their Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints (2-0).
Two key starters missed practice: wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (foot). Brown has been ruled out, while Gardner-Johnson, who injured his foot during Wednesday’s walkthrough, remains questionable for Sunday. However, Gardner-Johnson hinted at his potential availability, telling reporters, “See ya Sunday,” as he packed his bags, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
If Gardner-Johnson is unable to play, the Eagles are likely to move Avonte Maddox to safety alongside Reed Blankenship.
Despite appearing on last week’s injury report with a hamstring issue, linebacker Wilson practiced fully on Friday and is ready for Sunday. Brown, expected to miss “a couple” of weeks, leaves the Eagles relying on Jahan Dotson, DeVonta Smith, Johnny Wilson, Britain Covey, and tight end Dallas Goedert.
Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (hand) hasn’t appeared on this week’s injury report, a good sign for his availability against the Saints. Meanwhile, Devin White (ankle), Milton Williams (foot), and Fred Johnson (thumb) have all been healthy this week.
For the Saints, 12 players are on their final injury report, with defensive tackle Khalen Saunders (calf) being the only one ruled out so far for Sunday’s game.
