New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. exited Monday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox with a left elbow injury and will undergo imaging tests on Tuesday. Chisholm Jr. has been impressive since joining the Yankees in a recent trade with the Miami Marlins, so fans are hoping the injury is not serious, allowing him to return to the lineup soon.

“Jazz Chisholm Jr. has a left elbow injury, the Yankees announce,” Bryan Hoch reported. “He will undergo further testing tomorrow.” Since joining the Yankees, Chisholm Jr. has been hitting .296 across 14 games and has committed just one error at third base. New York fans are anxiously awaiting updates, hoping the injury doesn’t keep him out for long.

Before his time with the Yankees, Chisholm Jr. spent his entire career with the Marlins. He struggled during his debut season in 2020 but showed significant improvement in 2021, becoming a standout player since then.

The Yankees traded three prospects to acquire Chisholm Jr., who is now working to help his new team secure a playoff spot. The Yankees are currently tied for first in the AL East with a 70-49 record, engaged in a close race with the Baltimore Orioles for the division title, with the runner-up likely securing a Wild Card spot.

Although Chisholm Jr. is new to the Yankees, he’s already become an essential part of the team. Fans are hoping this elbow injury isn’t severe and that he’ll be back on the field soon.
