Micah Jones will graduate from Madison Central in December
On Friday, Madison Central senior tight end Micah Jones announced his commitment to the Florida Gators.
Jones, a three-star recruit graduating in December, cited several factors for his decision, including the coaches’ relationships with players, player development, school culture, and the utilization of the tight end position.
“When you visit colleges, you always get that feeling, and I felt that at Florida every time I went there,” Jones said. “The hype about the Swamp is real. Florida is a fantastic place, and I believe Coach Napier has the program on the rise. I think they’ll be National Championship contenders soon, and I want to contribute to that.”
With the high school football season starting in two months, Jones feels relieved to have his commitment settled, allowing him to focus on his senior year.
“It takes a lot of pressure off,” he said. “Now I can concentrate on winning the State Championship this year, and I believe we have the team to do it.”
Jones and the Jaguars kick off their season on Aug. 30 with an away game at Ocean Springs.
